The Region

Welcome to Trémolat

Tremolat has origins which go back for many centuries. The village was populated for many years by monks and the village has its own patron saint, called St. Cybard. The grand 12th Century church still dominates the square and the Chapel St. Hilaire is also from this time period and is located in the cemetery. The stained glass was replaced in 20th century and looks spectacular.

In the heart of the village is the square with town hall, school, church, Bar St. Hilaire, Le Bistro d'en face and pizzeria. There is a small weekly market held on a Tuesday. Other facilities to be found in the village are the hotel complete with restaurant called Le Vieux Logis. This hotel is one of Keith Floyd's favourite places, and the French Prime Minister has been known to 'drop in' by helicopter for lunch! Just off the village square is the bakers, the village Post Office, mini supermarket, tourist information office, hairdressers, mini golf, antiques shop and craft shop with enamel jewellery, pictures and ornaments. There is also a garage close by supplying petrol and providing an excellent repair service.
